3D Stereo Methods
For immersive 3D displays, Visbox makes use of several 3D stereo methods including linear polarization, circular polarization, Infitec, and active stereo.
Passive Polarized
Benefits:
– Low cost
– Lightweight
Drawbacks:
– Polarization preserving screen required (high gain causing hotspots)
– More cross-talk (ghosting) than Infitec or Active stereo
Passive Infitec
Benefits:
– Excellent stereo separation (minimal ghosting)
– Can be used with diffuse screen materials (good brightness uniformity)
Drawbacks:
– Expensive
– Color correction required
– Limited field of view
Active Stereo
Benefits:
– Excellent stereo separation (minimal ghosting)
– Can be used with diffuse screen materials (good brightness uniformity)
– Wide field of view
Drawbacks:
– Expensive
– Glasses require charging
