VisBox-HD^TM

Immersive 3D Display

The VisBox-HD^TM series features large screen sizes and HD (1920x1080) resolution projectors. VisBox-HD systems are available either as stand-alone 3D stereo displays or as turn-key projection-based VR systems with head and wand tracking.

Compatibility
The VisBox-HD accepts two DVI digital inputs. The system can be run from a single computer and is compatible with a wide variety of system configurations, including:
- Linux workstations
- Windows workstations
- Apple workstations

Applications
A variety of applications can be run on the VisBox-HD. Pictured on this page are high resolution 3D movies of an F3 tornado created by the visualization group at NCSA. For more examples, visit the VisBox applications page .

VisBox-HD Benefits

The VisBox-HD is designed for high resolution, stereo 3D collaborative visualization. It allows researchers to view their data in 3D with optimal image quality:

- Rear projection
Reduces ambient light issues, users cannot cast shadow onto screen.
- Native 1920x1080p resolution
Bright digital projectors with high contrast ratios.
- Choice of stereo method
Linear polarization, circular polarization, Infitec, or active. See below.

The system can be used in several different viewing configurations:

Group collaboration. Small groups of people standing in front of display, working together.	Theater. Add a couch and/or chairs for comfort during extended viewing sessions.
Workstation. Slide a desk up to the display and use the system interactively as a large, high resolution stereo monitor.	Table. The VisBox-HD6 model is also available in a custom reclining table configuration
