At ASEE 2006 (American Society for Engineering Education), we will be showcasing applications developed by the Valparaiso Scientific Visualization Lab (SVL) from Valparaiso University. The group is developing applications using our VisBox product that demonstrate how advanced visualization can be integrated into undergraduate curriculum and used to teach complex topics in various areas of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. A VisBox-C1 will be on display at the Museum of Science and Industry from March 31 to April 2 as part of a special exhibit titled “Exploring Alternative Energy.” The College of Engineering at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign will be showing several exhibits, including a virtual nuclear reactor model that will be presented on the VisBox by the Department of Nuclear, Plasma, and Radiological Engineering (NPRE). The exhibit is part of the Chicago Public School’s Annual Science Fair visit to the museum and it is expected that over 5,000 high school students will attend.
