9 additional VisBlocks installed at Virginia Tech

9 additional VisBlocks and 6 rolling VisBlock stands were installed at the Gigapixel Lab at Virginia Tech. This brings the lab total to 18 VisBlocks and an aggregate resolution of more than 16 million pixels. The stands allow columns of VisBlocks to be easily moved about to create various planar and curved display configurations. The Gigapixel Lab, headed by Dr. Chris North, is conducting research about the human-computer interaction (HCI) issues for large-scale, high-resolution displays. The need for rapid reconfigurability of such displays for empirical research drove the development of the VisBlock product.
